These four days, AROICON will cover many topics, symposia, clinical data, best practices of techniques and newest technology. Also Radiation Modulators, like Concurrent Chemotherapy and Targeted therapy, something which will always incite interest, is the theme of the conference.

An individual may submit more than one abstract in which he or she is indicated as presenter or
first author. |
| 2 |
Abstracts should be structured in such a way as to include the following 4 sections:
Aims : A brief introduction indicating the purpose of the study.
Material & Methods : A description of the pertinent experimental / study procedures.
Results : A summary of the study outcome highlighting the main results.
Conclusions : A crisp statement on the main conclusion based on the results mentioned. |

The character limit for the entire abstract, including title and the body of the abstract, is 2,500.
Spaces not counted. |

An abstract should not contain any illustrations, images, graphs or tables. Any abstract containing
an image, graph or table will not be accepted for review. |

Abstract should be submitted in the most appropriate category and choice of presentation specified
(oral or poster). A list of submission categories is available for reference overleaf. |

Abstracts must be received by August 31, 2009. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be
eligible. |

Abstracts once submitted shall not be available for editing. |
| 8 |
You will be notified of acceptance of your abstract by October 15, 2009. If you wish to withdraw
your abstract, you must submit your request in writing by November 3, 2009 to:

Abstract will be considered for oral presentation, poster viewing or discussion. However you can
mention your preference.
Poster Only : Abstract will be considered for poster viewing or discussion.
Abstracts for the best paper session should be sent directly to the Secretary General,
AROI as a full paper (not abstract). Instructions for preparation of the manuscript is available at the JCRT website
(www.cancerjournal.net). Abstracts selected for the best paper session will be eligible for publication in the official
journal (JCRT) after peerreview in accordance to JCRT guidelines.
The Best Paper awards include:
1) Dr JM Pinto Gold Medal
2) Parvati Devi Gold Medal
3) Dr GC Pant Young Doctor

A few posters will be selected each day for a short podium presentation using 3-4 representative slides. Delegates
with posters selected for podium presentation will be informed well in advance.

All poster presenters are encouraged to submit a virtual poster (maximum of 10 power point slides) to share
information as broadly as possible using the Web as a forum to facilitate communication around the world. Virtual
posters will be available for viewing at the AROICON 2009 website during & after the conference. Those interested
in having their posters displayed in the “AROICON 2009 Virtual Poster Library” are requested to send their
powerpoint presentations (strictly not more that TEN slides) to Dr. Vijay Anand P. Reddy, Email : aroicon2009@ hotmail.com latest by 30th September, 2009.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations will be selected by blind peer review based on the following criteria:

Does the abstract pose an important and novel question? |

Does the study design permit the question to be answered? |

Are the endpoints of the study clearly defined? |

Is there an appropriate use of statistics? |
 |
Are the methods described in sufficient detail? |
 |
Are the conclusions supported by the data? |

Is it either promising enough to pursue or negative enough that presentation would save other investigators
